Land O' Lakes Public Library: December 4, 2024

Posted

Are you already planning your winter or spring vacation? The Land O’ Lakes Library has you covered. With a library card, patrons can access language lessons for free through a website called Transparent Languages. Look for the link on the LOL Library website. There are quick lessons specifically geared toward travel. The library can order travel guides for many destinations through interlibrary loan. Plan and dream about an upcoming vacation through books.
When ready to leave for a trip, stop at the library and take a look at the “Reads for the Road” racks of paperbacks. These books are available free of charge and they do not need to be checked out or returned. If it’s preferred to download audiobooks or eBooks, try the Libby app.
With a library card, you have access to an entire online library of options. Land O’ Lakes Library staff would be happy to teach you how to use Libby. All you need is a smartphone or tablet.
Storytime Read n’ Play is held on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 10:30 a.m. All children and their caregivers are welcome.
Lego Club is held on the first and third Wednesdays of the month from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.; however, January’s meetings will be held on the 2nd (Jan. 8) and 4th (Jan. 22) Wednesdays as not to conflict with New Year’s Day. Participants may be dropped off or take the school bus to the library. Call the library with any questions.

Qigong and Balance classes, taught by Dottie Reeder, are offered on Fridays from 9 - 10 a.m. through January. No class will be held on the Friday after Christmas (Dec. 27). There is no charge for Qigong and all are welcome.
Mah Jongg games are held Tuesdays at 1 p.m. in the downstairs community room. Beginning and experienced players are all welcome. If interested, contact the library or stop in.
