Thanks to the angels among us
Dear Editor:
On Friday, June 19, I was leaving a local grocery store when I wheeled my cart right into a crack in the pavement that just about sent me head over heels!
Angel No. 1 – a man who was just leaving, stopped his car and asked if I was okay. I assured him I was fine, and dislodged my cart to continue to my car.
Angel No. 2 – a woman who also witnessed what happened to me, said she nearly had the same experience. I also assured her that I was fine, and then I looked down at my left leg, blood had already soaked through my jeans from my knee to my ankle.
As I hurried to my car, trying to think of what supplies I had that could stem the bleeding, a car pulled up next to me and it was Angel No. 2. Though she didn’t introduce herself, she did identify herself as a nurse, and was persistent in rendering medical aid to me.
While I did thank her, I never got her name. I only hope that she, or someone she shared the story with, will let her know that I am eternally grateful for the kindness and expert care she gave me in the grocery store parking lot.
When she was leaving, she said, “God bless you,” to which I could only reply, “No, God bless YOU!”
I hope she heard me.

Sugar Camp
