Marjorie Greb
Marjorie Greb was born to eternal life away on March 27 at the age of 91.

Marge was born in Waukesha, Wisconsin on January 8, 1934, to Ezra and Viola (Welter) Schwartz. She grew up in Waukesha, one of nine children, with four brothers and four sisters. She met the love of her life Franklin Greb, in high school, and they were happily married for 64 years.

She had five children between 1954 and 1965. As a full-time mother of five, she worked tirelessly, to send her children to Catholic grade school and high school. It was her dream for all of them to graduate from college. To achieve that dream, she began providing day care services to additional children to save money and went back to school to improve her administrative skills including shorthand and typing.

After her youngest was in grade school, she began working full time as an administrative assistant at Amron Corporation, rising to the role of Executive Assistant. She typed papers, checked grammar, and spelling, and anything else possible to help her children succeed in school. Education was paramount. In parallel, she was the super-glue that held her extended family together. She organized family and holiday celebrations, prepared copious quantities of food, and cleaned everything before and after gatherings. She took in, and cared for her own mother and father, when their health was failing later in life.

After she and her husband Frank retired, they followed their dream, moving to their lake home on Seven Mile Lake near Three Lakes, Wisconsin. While learning to play golf and enjoying a somewhat slower pace, she continued to be the glue that brought children and grandchildren together for many, many, wonderful times at the lake.

After her husband’s passing in 2016, she moved to Shorehaven in Oconomowoc. She enjoyed her time at Shorehaven, playing nearly every game available with a variety of new friends, starting new games, and participating in organized activities. She loved her family in every way possible. She loved her friends and was always looking to make new friends. She loved babies, and was never happier than when she could hold, cuddle, and rock a baby.

She was a woman of deeply held Catholic faith and lived her life by following one simple commandment; love one another. She reminded her children of this commandment often. She was always kind and generous. She was also very strong and fiercely independent. She always preferred to be the giver of gifts and made family Christmases and birthdays grand occasions.

She is survived by her daughters, Debra (Tim) Lavin of Prairie Village, KS, Dawn (Bill) McGinn of Statesville, NC, and Jill (Brian) Fridl of Pewaukee, WI; and her sons, Frank (Ellen) of Madison, WI, and William (Kristine) of Gulf Port, MS; sixteen grand-children, twenty great-grandchildren; and her dear sister, Rita (Howard) of Waukesha, WI.

To honor and celebrate her life, a gathering of her family and friends will be held at Shorehaven 1305 W. Wisconsin Ave. Oconomowoc, WI 53066 on June 21, 2025, at 11 am in chapel at Shorehaven.
