Meat raffle at Sweetwaters Sept. 27 to support WWIA

Posted

Wounded Warriors in Action (WWIA), a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit, will hold its annual meat raffle Sunday, Sept. 27, at Sweetwater Spirits and Resort.

The even runs from noon to 4 p.m. and supports the annual WWIA Eagle River Muskie Chal-Lunge.
Each year for the past 12 years, WWIA brings combat wounded Purple Heart veterans from around the country to the Northwoods for an all-expense paid fishing adventure on the Eagle River Chain of Lakes. All costs are covered by area sponsors and special events like the meat raffle.

According to organizer Eric Webb, the date of the raffle was chosen because no Green Bay Packers game is taking place that Sunday.

“Twenty-five boxes of premium meats will be raffled off; one ever few minutes,” Webb said.

In addition, free drink tickets will be raffled off throughout the day as well as a large assortment of gift baskets and a 50/50 raffle.

For more information on the meat raffle as well as WWIA Eagle River, find the group on Facebook under Wounded Warriors in Action Eagle River Muskie Chal-lunge or call 715-547-3340.
