Ryyn Darr, Northland Pines girls basketball

Northland Pines senior Ryyn Darr is a two-sport athlete for the Eagles, playing basketball in the winter and soccer in the spring. Outside of sports, she has a craft for art, whether that be drawing or painting. Her post-grad plans include going to college for exercise science to focus on athletic training or physical education. Darr also plans to play collegiate soccer at either Ripon College or UW-Superior. Here is more on the Pines senior:

Do you have a nickname that your friends or family call you?
“I don’t really have a nickname.”

What is your favorite sport to play?
“My favorite sport is soccer because I have been playing it since I was four years old.”

Is there a personal goal you want in basketball this year?
“This year in basketball, I would like to score more than last year and be an inspiration and encouragement to all of the younger players.”

What other hobbies do you have outside of sports?
“Outside of sports, I like to paint and draw as well as hang out with my sister and other friends.”

Favorite vacation spot that you’ve been to?

“My favorite place that I have been to is Iquitos, Peru. I visited Iquitos last year on a mission trip to help people and be an inspiration in their lives, but it also changed me as a person and gave me a different perspective on many things.”

Do you have a pregame ritual that helps you before games?
“I like to spend time with the team and mess around to get rid of any nerves. I don’t do anything specific.”

Do you have any plans for after high school? College?
“I plan to major in exercise science with a focus on either athletic training or physical education. I will be playing soccer in college, either at Ripon College or UW-Superior.
