One dead in Presque Isle house fire

One person died in a house fire in Presque Isle early last Friday morning.

Vilas County Dispatch received a 911 call at 6:25 a.m. on Nov. 28 reporting a structure fire at 7050 Crab Lake Road.

According to a press release issued by the Vilas County Sheriff’s Office, the home was already fully engulfed in flames when emergency crews arrived on scene.

Dean Lea, 67, the owner of the home, was found deceased inside. The house is a complete loss and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Responding to the scene were Presque Isle Fire, Presque Isle First Responders, Northwoods 91 & Northwoods 92 Ambulance Service, Manitowish Waters Fire, Winchester Fire, Boulder Junction Fire, Excel Energies, WE Energies, Vilas County Highway Department, Wisconsin Fire Marshal, Oneida County Medical Examiner and Vilas County Sheriff’s Office.
