Open house and ice cream social scheduled Tuesday at Boulder Junction Fire Department

BOULDER JUNCTION – The Boulder Junction Community Foundation invites area residents, seasonal neighbors, and visitors to a special summer community event on Tuesday, July 28, from 6 to 7 p.m.

The foundation is hosting a free ice cream social and open house at the Boulder Junction Fire Department to celebrate local philanthropy and showcase the direct impact of community giving.

Attendees will enjoy complimentary ice cream, featuring a delicious selection of toppings compliments of The Ice Shanty, alongside refreshing root beer donated by the Aqualand Ale House.

The evening offers a unique opportunity for the public to learn more about the Boulder Junction Community Foundation’s mission and how local donations strengthen area resources.

As a prime example of this impact, the Boulder Junction Fire Department — a longtime recipient of foundation grants — will serve as the event venue. Attendees can tour the station, view vital lifesaving equipment funded in part by grant awards, and enjoy a brief presentation detailing the rich history of the volunteer department.

“We wanted to create an evening that brings people together to celebrate the spirit of Boulder Junction,” said Mary Van Grinsven, president of the Boulder Junction Community Foundation Advisory Board. “Hosting this event allows us to show our deep appreciation for our donors and neighbors, while highlighting how foundation grants directly support vital civic resources like our volunteer fire department. We are also incredibly grateful to both The Ice Shanty and Aqualand Ale House for their generous local business partnerships.”

Whether you are a lifelong resident or a guest visiting the Northwoods for the week, all ages are welcome to attend this free gathering to connect with neighbors and discover the power of local giving.
