The 51st annual Paul’s Pro-Am Musky tournament is ready to hit the waters of the Eagle River Chain of Lakes later this month, Saturday, Sept. 19 through Sunday, Sept. 20.
Tournament headquarters is once again at Shotskis Bar in Eagle River, located at 1295 White Pine Road.
This year’s catch-and-release tournament is set to pay out the top 10 places, with first place going home with a $10,000 prize. Second place will get $6,000; third place $4,000; fourth place $2,000; fifth place $1,500; sixth place $1,000; seventh place $900; eighth place $800; ninth place $700; 10th place $600. There is a 30” length minimum for qualified fish.
While fighting for a nice payday, participants can also find a relaxed fishing atmosphere and a good time with fellow anglers.
Registration will be at Shotskis on Friday, Sept. 18, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. At least one team member must be present to register. The tournament will open at Eagle Lake Park on Saturday, Sept. 19, with boat checks at 6:30 a.m.
Fishing hours will run from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, with the same start times on Sunday, Sept. 20. Fishing will only run to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Each angler or team will measure and photograph their own fish, so boats must have their own measuring board and smartphone with a time and date stamp. All teams placing in the money will have their measuring boards verified on Sunday after the tournament. Awards will be given at Shotskis on Sunday starting at 2 p.m.
Any tournament questions can be directed to tournament director Greg Horant at 715-617-3016.
