Pines High School track closed this summer for improvements

The Northland Pines School District announced last week that work on the track at Northland Pines High School started June 8 and that the track will be closed for the remainder of the summer.

“We’re excited to see progress begin on this project and look forward to the upgrades that will benefit our students, athletes and community for years to come,” it said in the Facebook post.

While the outdoor track is under construction, Northland Pines offers plenty of space for people to remain active. Walking hours at the indoor track in the fieldhouse are Monday through Friday, 5:30 a.m.-7 p.m., and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. Pines also has the community wellness center, a membership-based gym at the high school for community members. Wellness center hours are the same as the fieldhouse. More information can be found on the Northland Pines School District website.
