Pines Junior Ryley Darr Named to Leadership Team

Northland Pines High School junior Ryley Darr has been selected to the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association’s (WIAA) Student-Athlete Leadership Team (SALT) for the 2025-26 school year.

She is one of 16 new juniors chosen statewide from a pool of 150 applicants during this year’s application process.

Darr becomes the second Northland Pines student selected to the team in as many years, following 2025 graduate Cody Vojta, who was on it during its inaugural 2024-25 stint. The SALT program, which began in the 2024-25 school year, provides student-athletes with opportunities to develop leadership skills and represent their peers in an advisory role to the WIAA.

Darr is one of two new members representing District 2, joined by Hope Soper of Gillett High School.

SALT members meet four times annually, attend state tournaments, participate in Fall area meetings, and help organize an annual student leadership conference, which will merge with the WIAA Sportsmanship Summit beginning this December. The team will hold its orientation meeting in August at the WIAA executive office in Stevens Point.
