The pig roast event was made possible thanks to these volunteers.
VFW Post 8400 of Land O’ Lakes recently hosted a pig roast at Rogers Bar in Watersmeet, Mich., to raise funds for Watersmeet American Legion Post 417’s building project.
Master pig roaster Pete Otterpohl and volunteers prepared a generous meal, while live music by Burton Tyler and the Wags entertained attendees. A children’s sandpit filled with coins and pink flamingos added fun for the younger crowd.
A raffle for a cooler of choice meats, donated by Charlie’s Northwoods Market, was won by Ryan Peterson of Conover.
Proceeds from this raffle will also help Grace and Nikki Peterson with travel costs for their martial arts competition in Romania.
Additional prizes included an ATV luggage rack, a crossbow, and basket raffles, all of which boosted the Legion’s building fund.
The event was made possible with community support and the hard work of volunteers.
