Rose Kwaterski

Rose Marie Lucille Kwaterski passed away with a peaceful heart ready for her eternal journey with Jesus her Savior on September 27, 2026.

Rose Marie was born on December 3, 1934, to parents John and Lucille Machurick in Milwaukee.

She was an office worker at a metal spinning plant in Milwaukee when she met Harry Klemaszewski. Rose and Harry married and some years later followed their dreams of moving north to set a new course and do more hunting and fishing. They purchased a tavern in downtown Three Lakes and ran a successful business for 10 years before Harry passed away.

Rose loved to fish and spent many hours in her boat on Catfish Lake filling her stringer with Perch and Sunfish. Many times, she would watch the sun set before she would row back to her dock. In 1975, Rose “caught” her second love of her life. Ray Kwaterski and Rose were married and for 20 years lived on the southwest shore of Catfish Lake before Ray passed away. Fishing provided many serene moments for Rose to pray and to ponder life. When Rose was not in her boat you would find her celebrating many life events with family and friends. She had a generous heart and was famous for her one-of-a-kind Christmas gifts!

In Rose’s later years, her life was made brighter with help from Ruth Congelton and her community of friends at Orchard Estates.

Even as Rose struggled with a major battle with cancer and great pain, her love for going to weekly Mass never ceased right up to a few days of her passing. Many called her the “Energizer Bunny”!

Rose had a glowing smile that would warm the heart of all that she met. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Rose Marie is survived by her brother Jerry Machurich of North Carolina, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ed & Arlene Kwaterski and many nieces and nephews.

Rose was a devoted member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church and was an Auxiliary Member of the American Legion Post 431 in Three Lakes
