Sally (Hermanson) Ehle Vredenburgh
Sally Hermanson Ehle Vredenburgh, age 86, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025, at Meadow View Memory Care in Baraboo, Wisconsin.
Sally was the daughter of Robert Hermanson Sr. and Agnes (Heinke) Hermanson. She grew up in Sayner, Wisconsin, and graduated as valedictorian of Eagle River High School’s Class of 1957, where she met her high school sweetheart, Gary W. Ehle. After marrying in 1960, they made their home in Appleton, Wisconsin, and were blessed with two daughters.
After their marriage ended, Sally found love again with F. Kent Vredenburgh Sr., with whom she shared a loving marriage until his passing in 1992.
Sally dedicated many years to her career as a Medical Laboratory Technologist, all while being a devoted and loving mother. Growing up in the Northwoods instilled in her a lifelong love of nature. She especially treasured family camping trips to Crystal Lake near Sayner, Wisconsin—a tradition that became a lasting source of joy for her family.
Strong and independent, Sally embraced life with courage and curiosity. In her later years, she traveled across the country in her camper van with her beloved dog, sharing peace, love, and joy with everyone she met along the way. Her passion for travel and adventure extended around the world—a spirit she joyfully passed down to her children and grandchildren.
A woman of deep faith, Sally was actively involved in her church throughout her life. She participated in clown ministry, studied to become a lay minister in the Lutheran Church, and lived her faith through service. She volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, helping victims of Hurricane Katrina—an example of her enduring compassion and generosity.
Sally is survived by her daughters, Connie (Ken) Velpel of Eagle River and Janice (Mike) Saari of Reedsburg; her grandchildren, Zachary Velpel, Melissa Velpel, and Samuel Velpel; her sister, Nancy Burk; her brother, Bob (Dottie) Hermanson Jr.; and her husband Kent’s children, F. Kent (Evelyn) Vredenburgh Jr., Marion (Roger) Olson, Margie (John) Sweeney, and Cathy Connolly. She is also lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews, Kent’s grandchildren, and cherished friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, F. Kent Vredenburgh Sr.; and her former husband, Gary W. Ehle.
Sally will be remembered for her faith, generosity, adventurous spirit, and the deep love she held for her family. She touched countless lives with her kindness and generosity, leaving behind a legacy of service, peace, love, and joy.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. She will be laid to rest in the Sayner Cemetery beside her husband, Kent. PAID OBITUARY
