SAYNER — The Sayner-Star Lake-Cloverland Chamber of Commerce has announced the recipients of its inaugural community grant program.
The program is funded through room tax dollars dedicated to enhancing the quality of life and visitor experience throughout the Sayner, Star Lake, and Cloverland communities.
Launched earlier this year, the community grant program was created to support local organizations whose projects strengthen the community, encourage tourism, and enhance the experiences of both residents and visitors.
This year’s grant recipients were: $6,250 to the Sayner Barnstormers for its snowmobile raffle drawing and show; $1,750 to Bo-Boen Snowmobile Club for new Riverview Trail signage; and $2,000 to Lakeland Area Mountain Bike Organization (LAMBO) Riders for its Muskie Mountain trail project.
“This grant program represents an investment in the people, organizations, and ideas that make our communities so special,” said Shelby Szott, executive director of the Sayner-Star Lake-Cloverland Chamber of Commerce. “We were incredibly impressed by the quality of applications received and are excited to partner with these organizations as they bring their projects to life. Their efforts will help strengthen our communities while creating meaningful experiences for both residents and visitors.”
Applications were accepted from April 1 through May 15, with numerous organizations submitting proposals for projects that will make a lasting impact in the area.
Szott noted that while funding was limited during this inaugural grant cycle, the chamber recognizes the valuable work being done throughout the community and encourages organizations to apply for future funding opportunities.
Grant recipients will complete their projects throughout the coming months and provide follow-up reports detailing how the funding has benefited the community.
