Shirley Ann Ludwig

Shirley Ann Ludwig, aged 97, died November 30, 2024, peacefully at home. She was born May 9, 1927, to the late Frances Marie and Harold "Top‐ per" Thompson of Stevens Point, Wiscon‐ sin. The Thompsons had twelve children and Shirley was the eldest. She remembered her early years fondly in a large family home, with everyone always busy and involved in some inter‐ esting activity. She married William L. Ludwig in 1948, and they remained together for 68 years until his death. Shirley will be remembered for her dedication to her family and daughters. She enjoyed shopping, walking, sewing, cooking and reading. She is preceded in death by her parents, her hus‐ band, William; two sisters, Jane Hartman and Elaine Griffith; two brothers, Bill and Jack Thomp‐ son; and dear friends, Dolly and Marilyn. She is survived by three daughters, Nancy (Scott) Dobrzynski, Amy (Mike) Florence, Janice (Gary) Gardner; five grandchildren, Seth Hansen, Grant (Mary) Greenwood, Greg (Rose) Greenwood, Ger‐ rid (Christine) Greenwood, and Grace Florence; seven great-grandchildren, Gabriella Santos and Greenwoods - Heidi, Grayson, Atlas, Aurrin, Theo & Isabella and eight siblings, Joan (Dick decd.) Dargis, Tommy (Marge) Thompson, Marilyn Thompson, Ruth (Jerry decd.) Woodward, Alice (Bob) Mauszycki, Betty (Gordon decd.) Flood, and Bonnie (Walter decd.) Normington and brother-in-law; John Griffith. A celebration of life will be held next spring for the immediate family.
