Veterans Day program scheduled at UCC Congregational Church

The UCC Congregational Church of Phelps will present its annual Veterans Day Service on Sunday, Nov. 10, at 9 a.m.

The special service honoring Veterans will focus on the American flag, featuring its history, the significance of each fold in flag folding, flag etiquette and display guidelines under the Federal Flag Code. Local Veterans will participate in much of the program.

“Who better to present the program than those who have sworn allegiance to the American Flag and the country it stands for,” said coordinator Sharon Caskey.

Donations will support the Northwoods Veterans Homestead, a project dedicated to building tiny homes for veterans who are homeless.

All are welcome, with a free buffet breakfast following the service. The church is located at 2303 Highway 17 in downtown Phelps.
