The Christmas Belles Education Award (CBEA), a program aimed at supporting youth aging out of foster care in Gogebic and Vilas counties, has received a generous donation from the VFW Auxiliary.
Founded as an initiative of the Christmas Belles organization, the CBEA addresses the needs of young individuals who often require guidance from Human and Social Service Departments as they transition to independence.
Many of these young adults are encouraged to pursue further education in trades, at community colleges or universities to secure their future employability.
The CBEA was established in December, 2022, and began accepting applications for assistance in April, 2023, with the support of Social Services in both counties.

The recent donation from the VFW Auxiliary will significantly aid the CBEA in its mission to provide financial assistance to these deserving youths as they prepare for their future careers.
