‘Antiques Roadshow’ expert to offer appraisals at Land O’ Lakes library

The Land O’ Lakes Public Library will host “What’s It Worth?,” an antique appraisal event and fundraiser for the Friends of the Library, this Saturday, Aug. 16, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will feature author and nationally recognized antiques expert Mark Moran, who will evaluate antiques, collectibles, and decorative arts.

Each appraisal costs $15 per item and must be paid upon registration. Space is limited, so registration is required. To reserve a time slot, call the library at 715-547-6006. Payments can be dropped off at the library, located at 4242 Highway B, or mailed to PO Box 450, Land O’ Lakes, WI 54540.

For oversized, fragile, or multiple items, Moran offers house calls on the day of the event at $75 per hour, with no mileage fee within 10 miles of the library. To arrange a home visit, call 715-281-5060 or email moranm1953@gmail.com.

Moran has over three decades of experience buying and selling antiques. He appeared as a guest expert for nine seasons on PBS’s “Antiques Roadshow” and has worked as an antique show producer, editor, and appraiser specializing in folk art, Americana, and fine art.
Appraisals are informal and not valid for insurance or donation purposes.

The event is open to the public, and observers are encouraged to attend and learn more about the world of antiques.
