Oct. 1–3 — Cranberry Fest Book Sale, Walter E. Olson Memorial Library, Eagle River. The Friends of the Library will offer hardcover and paperback books, children’s and young adult books, audiobooks, DVDs, games, music and puzzles. Hours are 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Saturday. Info: 715-479-3130 or 715-479-8070.

Oct. 2 — Young Entrepreneur Market (YEM), 10 a.m.–1 p.m., The Square, Eagle River. Young entrepreneurs ages 10–17 will sell handmade goods, food, drinks, crafts and more while gaining real-world business experience. Info: yemeagleriver.com.

Oct. 2 — Fish Fry, 4–8 p.m., Reiter Center, Three Lakes. Faith Lutheran Church will host a fish fry featuring fried or baked fish, sides, dessert and coffee, along with raffle prizes and a 50/50 raffle. Beer, wine and soda will be available. Cost is $22. Info: 715-546-2770.

Oct. 2–4 — Midwest Musky Classic, Phelps area lakes. The 46th annual fishing tournament will take place on North and South Twin Lakes, Lac Vieux Desert, Big Sand Lake, Long Lake and Kentuck Lake. Oct. 3–4 — Greater Wisconsin Musky Tournament, St. Germain. Anglers will compete for the largest musky and northern pike on 10 area lakes during the 38th annual tournament. Fishing runs 7 a.m.–5 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m.–noon Sunday, with awards at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Registration is $95 per person and closes Oct. 1. Info: 715-477-2205 or st-germain.com.

Oct. 3–4 — Cranberry Fest, Vilas County Fairgrounds and downtown Eagle River. Enjoy arts and crafts, cranberry foods and products, family entertainment, fresh cranberry sales and more. Hours are 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Sunday. Downtown Eagle River activities are Saturday only and include an antique and vintage market, farmers market and arts and crafts show. Cranberry marsh tours will be offered Oct. 1–4. Info: 715-479-6400.

Oct. 3 — Lake Country Weavers & Fiber Artists Show, Demonstrations and Sale, 9 a.m.–4 p.m., First Congregational Church, Eagle River. Browse handmade fiber art and watch demonstrations of spinning, knitting, crocheting, weaving and felting. Items for sale include rugs, runners, hats, mittens, felted items, hand-spun yarn and more. Oct. 3–4 — Wildwood’s Pumpkin Patch Event, 10 a.m.–4 p.m., Wildwood Wildlife Park Zoo & Safari, Minocqua. The fifth annual event will feature pick-your-own pumpkins, games, photo opportunities, refreshments and tram rides to and from the pumpkin patch. Admission is $10 for ages 12 and older and $5 for ages 2–11, with a nonperishable food donation requested to support local food pantries. Pumpkins are $5 each. Cash only. Info: 715-356-5588.

Oct. 3 — A Taste of Boulder Junction, 5–8 p.m., Boulder Junction Community Center. The Friends of the Boulder Junction Public Library fundraiser will feature food and beverage samples from local merchants, live music by Bob Vogel, basket raffles, a wine pull, craft beer and cider Plinko and other games and prizes. Tickets are $40 and include a logo tasting glass. Info: 715-385-2050. 

Oct. 4 — Chicken Dinner Fundraiser, 4–7 p.m., Veterans Resource Center, Eagle River. The fundraiser will benefit the Vuk family, who lost their home in a July fire. The $10 meal includes fried chicken, fries, corn, a dinner roll and a cookie, with all proceeds going directly to the family. Info: 715-891-3526. 

Oct. 9–11 — Northwoods Art Tour, 10 a.m.–5 p.m., locations throughout Vilas, Oneida, Iron and Lincoln counties. Visit artists in their studios and galleries and see painting, pottery, photography, woodworking, jewelry, glass, fiber and mixed-media art. The self-guided tour is free. Oct. 10 — Scandinavian Bake & Craft Sale, 8:30 a.m.–1 p.m., Calvary Lutheran Church, Minocqua. Annual sale featuring Scandinavian baked goods and crafts. Lefse may be ordered in advance for $8 per package of three. Info and lefse orders: 715-358-0067. 

Oct. 10 — Three Eagle Half Marathon & 5K Run, 9 a.m. race start, Eagle River to Three Lakes. The 13th annual event takes runners through the Northwoods during peak fall colors. Info and registration: 3eaglehalf.com.

Oct. 10 — Pumpkin Fest, 9:30 a.m.–3 p.m., Three Lakes High School, Three Lakes. The 33rd annual Three Lakes Fire Department Auxiliary event will feature more than 100 arts and crafts vendors, a farmers market, a 45-foot bakery table, homemade soups, pies, caramel apples, cinnamon rolls, raffle prizes and more. Oct. 10 — Pumpkin Fest Used Book Sale, 9:30 a.m.–noon, Edward U. Demmer Memorial Library, Three Lakes. The Friends of the Library will offer adult and children’s books, audiobooks, CDs, DVDs and VHS tapes for $1 each, with a $10 fill-a-bag option while supplies last. Oct. 10 — Lake Tom Sno Fleas–Trail Riders Chicken Dinner Fundraiser, noon–4 p.m., Shamrock Pub-n-Eatery, Lake Tomahawk. Annual fundraiser featuring chicken dinners and assorted desserts, with proceeds supporting local trail maintenance and safe motorized recreational vehicle use.
