Fundraising walk to aid local cancer patients this Saturday

Posted

The third annual Walk to Support Cancer Patients will be held Saturday, Aug. 16, in Eagle River.

Founded by local cancer survivor Samantha Weber, the event raises money for the Angel Fund at Marshfield Clinic in Minocqua, which helps local families pay cancer-related medical bills not covered by insurance.

Participants will meet at Andy’s Pontoon Saloon (220 E. Wall St.) between 7:30 and 8:20 a.m. to shuttle to the Three Eagle Trail for a 3.5-mile walk.

An after-party at Andy’s from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. will feature raffles, door prizes, and cold beer, with $1 from every beer sold donated to the cause.

Registration is $30 and includes a T-shirt. For more details or to register, visit walktosupportcancerpatients.org.
