Communities across the North Woods are offering plenty of ways to enjoy the last days of summer this Labor Day weekend, including craft fairs, festivals, fundraisers, flea markets, and more.
Two of Eagle River’s biggest summer events are slated downtown this Sunday — the chamber’s arts and crafts show and the Eagle River Lions Club’s popular Sausage Fest event.
Arts and crafts show
The 10th annual Labor Day Arts and Crafts Show and Sidewalk Sales are set for Sunday, Aug. 31, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in downtown Eagle River.
The show will feature artists from across the North Woods and beyond. Local businesses will offer products for sale outside their stores, and the day will include music, food, and drinks.
According to the Eagle River Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center, more than 4,000 people are expected to attend, and activities will take place rain or shine.

Sausage FestAlso on Sunday, Aug. 31, the Eagle River Lions Club will host its popular Sausage Fest from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Riverview Park, featuring a variety of locally made sausages, Oktoberfest-style beers, music, dancing, and raffles.
This marks the 12th year of the festival, which in past years has drawn a couple thousand people to enjoy approximately 800 pounds of sausages.
Children’s activities, facilitated by the Northwoods Children’s Museum, will also be on the grounds.
The fest is one of the Lions Club’s biggest fundraisers of the year, with proceeds supporting its community projects and student scholarships.
