The Eagle River Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center has announced plans for the city’s annual Fourth of July celebration, scheduled for Friday, July 4, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in downtown Eagle River, including a parade and family-friendly festivities.
This year’s Parade Marshal will be Karen Kubacki Boxrucker, a dedicated community member recognized for her decades of volunteer service. Boxrucker has played a role in many local events, including 25 years managing the bakery at Cranberry Fest and working with Artarama. She has also hosted international hockey players, assisted with the art show at the library, and delivered meals to seniors.
“She stays busy sharing her love of our community with our community,” said the chamber. “We are all very grateful for what she does to help create a community where we all want to be.”
Parade detailsThe parade will begin at 11 a.m. on Wall Street. The chamber invites local families, businesses, and organizations to participate by entering a float or Fourth of July-themed display. Participation is free, but all parade units must incorporate red, white, and blue.
Early registration is encouraged by Friday, June 27, to help with lineup organization. Call 715-479-6400 to register.
The chamber added that there will be slots available at check-in on the day of the parade, but early registration is preferred.
A designated Wet Zone will be located on Wall Street between Silver Lake Road (near Peanuts Ice Cream) and Second Street (by the U.S. Post Office) for spectators who don’t mind being sprayed with squirt guns and water-spraying devices by float participants. Those who prefer to stay dry are encouraged to sit outside this zone.
Party in the StreetThe community is also invited to the Party in the Street event beginning at 10 a.m., with music from DJ Chris and Tiffany at the corner of Wall and Main streets. A food and beer garden will be available throughout the day. After the parade, Wall Street will remain closed for more music, food, drinks, and family activities until 3 p.m.
Party in the Street is supported by the Eagle River Chamber of Commerce Downtown Committee, Eagle River Revitalization Program, and the Eagle River Veterans Resource Center.
