Northland Pines senior Thomas Burr is currently a member of the Northland Pines golf team. He was also a part of the bass fishing and ice fishing teams here at Northland Pines. Burr is quite the entrepreneur, running his own lure business outside of school. He custom-paints his own fishing lures and sells them publicly. When Burr graduates within the next month or so, he plans on enlisting in the United States Coast Guard. Here is more on the Pines senior:
Do you have a nickname that your friends or family call you?
“Tommy, because it is my name.”
Do you participate in any other sports besides golf?
Do you have a personal goal on the course this year?
“My personal goal on the course this year is to improve my mid-range irons and become more consistent.”
What other hobbies do you have outside of sports?
“Outside of school, I run my own business called First Cast Lures. I custom-paint my own fishing lures to sell to the public.”
Favorite vacation spot that you’ve been to?
“My favorite vacation spot would be the Gallatin Gateway in Bozeman, Montana. The sound of the river rushing, the view of the endless mountain ranges, the smell of the Ponderosa Pine trees and all the family memories make it my favorite vacation.”
Do you have a pregame ritual that helps you before your matches?
“Before every match, I warm up by chipping and putting while listening to Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door by Guns N Roses.”
