The public is welcome to attend the grand opening ceremony of the new Plum Lake Community Center in Sayner Saturday, Nov. 7.
The multi-million dollar center was funded through state grants given out to improve rural communities’ libraries and community centers. Both Plum Lake and Phelps were awarded these $4.25 million grants in the fall of 2024, creating impressive new structures that house services like telehealth, community gathering spaces, internet use areas and more.
Plum Lake’s new center also will be fully ADA-accessible to ensure all members of the community can access the amenities.
“This special occasion marks a significant milestone for our community and reflects the generosity, support, and dedication of so many who helped make this project possible,” said Plum Lake town Chair Jackey Postuchow.
The ceremony will begin at 11:45 a.m. with a road dedication ceremony of Schnettler Parkway, followed by the grand opening ceremony at noon. Starting at 12:30 p.m. will be time for refreshments and visiting.
“Please join us as we celebrate this exciting new chapter for the Town of Plum Lake and the lasting value it brings to our community. We look forward to celebrating with you,” Postuchow said.
The center is located at 3010 Schnettler Parkway, near the pavilion and park.
