GETTING JUICY! — The Eagle River Lion's Club put on its 12th annual Sausage Fest event Aug. 31, drawing thousands of visitors to Riverview Park for locally made sausages, hot dogs, Oktoberfest-style beers and more. Decade XS performed in the clamshell, bringing 80s rock songs to the masses, while Northwoods Children's Museum staff provided games and activities. There also was a bounce-house on site. Monies raised at the popular event go back to fund projects that help the community. Downtown Eagle River was a happening place on Labor Day Sunday as people turned out in droves to attend the annual Sausage Fest event as well as the Eagle River Labor Day Arts and Crafts Sale.
Making memories at Sausage Fest.
Larry Poteshman was kept plenty busy at the beer stand by people looking to whet their whistle. The day boasted a sunny backdrop with temperatures in the mid-70s.
A variety of sausages were available, including the 12-inch Homewrecker seen here. The condiment table was frequented by folks doctoring their dogs.
Attendees document the feat of devouring the Homewrecker sausage.
Sausage Fest's meaty treats are not just for people, as proven here by these spoiled puppers getting their own sampling of the 800 pounds of sausage served up by members of the Eagle River Lion's Club.
