The second annual Stoneline Valley Music Festival takes place Thursday through Saturday, Sept. 25–27, at 4902 Old 70 Road, northeast of Phelps, featuring music, food, and outdoor fun.
The event opens with a pre-party Thursday, Sept. 25, from 4:30 to 11 p.m. The full festival continues Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to midnight. For the full lineup and schedule, visit stonelinevalley.com/event-info.
Festivalgoers can enjoy 20 bands spanning genres from folk/Americana and bluegrass to country rock and indie rock, all performing in the North Woods’ natural amphitheater. Popular local food trucks will be on site, along with craft beer, wine, and seltzers.
“We are beyond stoked to bring the Phelps community more culture, art, family fun, and great music in the second edition of the Stoneline Valley Music Festival,” said Steven Vetter, owner of Stoneline Valley.
Artists are traveling from Philadelphia, Nashville, Denver, Grand Rapids, Minnesota, and across Wisconsin. The festival has also expanded its food trucks, vendors, and activities, including yoga, hula hoop classes, games, face painting, Henna tattooing, a kids’ area, and the popular hay mountain.
“We continue to build and upgrade the venue each year and are excited for everyone to see the changes from last year,” Vetter added.
The festival takes its name from the stone borders of a century-old Finnish farm. Its entrance atop one of Vilas County’s highest hills opens to a forested amphitheater with natural slopes that amplify the music. Steven and Greg Vetter, the father-and-son team behind the festival, have created a remote, wide-open space with a “middle of nowhere” feel.
Two-day tickets are $130, single-day passes are $65, and the Thursday pre-party is $30; taxes and fees apply to all ticket types. Camping for cars, tents, and RVs is free with multi-day tickets, while general parking is available for single-day visitors. Ten percent of two-day ticket sales will benefit the nonprofit Vets 4 Child Rescue, which fights child sex trafficking.
