Veterans Memorial unveiling set for July 2 in Three Lakes

Community members are invited to attend the unveiling of the new Three Lakes Veterans Memorial on Thursday, July 2, at 5 p.m.

The memorial, located at 6965 W. School St. between the Three Lakes Municipal Building and the Edward U. Demmer Memorial Library, was created to honor past, present and future veterans from the Three Lakes area.

The project, led by the Three Lakes Veterans Memorial Committee, has been in development since 2022 and was funded through community donations, fundraisers and raffles. The memorial features granite monuments, military branch flagpoles, benches and name walls recognizing more than 700 local veterans, including those who were killed in action or listed as prisoners of war.

The unveiling ceremony will include guest speakers and a ceremonial dedication. Those wishing to sit during the ceremony are encouraged to bring their own chairs.
