Posted

The Vilas County Sheriff’s Office apprehended a murder suspect wanted in the city of Milwaukee late last week.

A press release was issued by the sheriff’s office June 25 asking the public for assistance in locating Michael J. Garcia Carroll Jr., age 40. Carroll was being investigated by the Milwaukee Police Department for his alleged involvement in a homicide that occurred in Milwaukee on June 18.

Oneida and Vilas County sheriff’s deputies had made contact with Carroll at a business near Highway 70 and Highway 51 in Arbor Vitae, but Carroll fled the deputies on foot.

The press release asked the public’s help, noting that Carroll was not to be approached and considered to be dangerous.

An updated release later in the afternoon of June 25 indicated that Carroll was in police custody.
