Witter to perform Billy Joel tribute

Posted

The Headwaters Council for the Performing Arts (HCPA) will welcome back acclaimed showman Jim Witter to celebrate the music of Billy Joel in “Sing Us A Song…You’re the Piano Man,” Saturday, May 17, at 7 p.m. at the Northland Pines High School Auditorium.

Known for his engaging stage presence and incredible musicianship, Witter captivated North Woods audiences in 2022 with his electrifying “Crocodile Rockin’” Elton John tribute.

The HCPA said due to overwhelming enthusiasm, his return was a must. This time, Witter brings to life Joel’s legendary hits, including “Piano Man,” “Uptown Girl,” “New York State of Mind,” and hidden gems that span Joel’s illustrious career.

Based in Toronto, Witter will be joined by his talented four-piece band, adding rhythm, harmony, and energy to the evening. The performance will also feature Witter’s signature multimedia presentation, adding visual flair, nostalgia, and a touch of humor.

The evening will begin at 6:15 p.m. with a pre-show performance by local favorites, the Woodland Strings, in the auditorium gathering space.

HCPA will unveil its 2025–2026 season lineup during intermission with a special video presentation.

HCPA’s popular raffle basket drawing will also be held during the event, with baskets filled with gifts donated by local businesses. Raffle tickets will be available at the venue for $5 each or five for $20. Winners will be announced during intermission.

Tickets are $35 and can be purchased in advance at Eagle River Roasters through May 16, online at hcpapresents.com, or the door starting at 6 p.m. on the evening of the performance.
