Chamber celebrates ‘successful’ summer, fall

Seeking nominations for awards banquet in December

Posted

Eagle River Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Kim Emerson, recently looked back in review at another busy and productive summer for the organization.

“So far we have successfully hosted nine events and have five more to go,” Emerson said. “All have been successful and it’s because of our volunteer support we receive. A great, big thank-you goes out to all our volunteers who have gone the extra mile to help at our events throughout the summer and fall.”
Emerson noted that she continued to see an increase in the number of visitors to the area again this summer, adding that the visitor’s center also was very busy.

“Many area businesses are reporting that they have had a very good year with their businesses,” she said. “As we look into fall and a new winter season, we hope we can continue to have a busy rest of this year. Think cold and snow for our upcoming winter.”

Although the slower season is approaching, staff is keeping busy planning next year’s events and seeking out volunteers to help run them. It’s also budget time, with Emerson and her staff putting together the 2026 operating and marketing budgets, along with final touches on the 2026 Visitors Guide.

She reminds chamber members that now is the time to renew their memberships. Renewals must be completed by Thursday, Oct. 30, to be included in the visitors guide.

Nominations open

The Eagle River chamber will host its annual dinner banquet Thursday, Dec. 11, at Eagle Waters Resort to recognize those who made impacts in their community over the last year.

Nominations are now open for the 2025 Business, Volunteer, and Woman and Man of the Year awards.

Nomination forms are available at the chamber office.

“We encourage you to contact us with nominations for all these awards,” Emerson said, adding that there also are three openings on the chamber board of directors. “We are looking for members that desire to get more involved and can provide leadership in the interest of expanding our mission: Dedication to the promotion of a strong community through the encouragement of tourism, business and economic development while being balanced with concern for the environment.”

The Eagle River Chamber of Commerce boasts a membership of more than 300 members. Anyone who would like to join the chamber or wants more information on volunteer opportunities can contact Emerson at kim@eagleriver.org or call the office at 715-479-6400.
