Domestic violence agency, shelter temporarily suspend services

Posted

Two important resources for those experiencing domestic violence have reported a temporary closure due to staffing issues.

The Tri-County Council on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, Inc. and its emergency shelter, Lily’s House, reported via social media last week that they would temporarily pause their shelter and advocacy services.

The organization stressed that this is only temporary, and that the agency is not closing its doors permanently.

“We remain fully committed to supporting survivors and serving our community,” the council stated in the post. “During this transitional period, operations may look a bit different as we onboard and train new advocates. With a limited team currently in place, we will continue to do our best to connect individuals with support by referring them to our trusted partner agencies when needed.”

Officials expect to be able to resume full operations by next month once staff has been fully trained.

In the meantime, those in need of assistance, information and referrals can still reach TCC Mondays through Thursdays by phone at 715-362-6841.

There also are other area shelter and support resources available in the North Woods, including Northwoods Alliance for Temporary Housing - Frederick Place in Rhinelander which can be reached at 715-369-9777, and the Lac du Flambeau Domestic Violence Program 24/7 crisis line, 800-236-7660.
