After a long life full of love, games, and travel Doris Claire Jackson, age 94, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on March 19, 2025, at her home in Eagle River, Wis.
She spent her childhood in Eagle River, married in 1951, lived in Glendale, Wis. for over 30 years, then returned to Eagle River upon retirement.  
Doris is survived by her husband of 73 years, Ron Jackson; their children, David (Linda) Jackson, Judy (Bob) Dow, Audrey (Frank) Emery, Carol (Gary) Karabelas, Barbie (Scott) Jackson and Daniel Jackson. Their grandchildren, Paula, Ron, Rebecca, Lisa, Bradley, Mickey, William, Randy, Susan, and Nicole. Their great-grandchildren Kylar, Kael, Draven, Samantha, Allie, Cecilia, Isabelle, CJ, Kennedy, Nahla and Pike.  
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe Fonferek and Caroline (née Boerschinger) Fonferek; sisters, Rosemary (née Fonferek) Jackson and Caroline (née Fonferek) Ehlers; daughter-in-law Pamela (née Larson) Jackson; and granddaughter Tambi.  
Doris spent a great deal of time traveling with her husband Ron, and with many friends and relatives. She went on numerous trips to Alaska and Canada, as well as trips to many other locations including Ireland, the Panama Canal, twice to the Arctic Circle, and casinos throughout the United States. During these trips they spent a lot of time fishing and enjoying the outdoors. While in Eagle River her favorite activities included playing cards, bingo, and visiting casinos. When not taking part in those activities she could be found relaxing with a good book.  
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday July 18, 2025, at St. Peter the Fisherman church in Eagle River, WI at 11 a.m. followed by a mass at noon.
