James Arnold Greenman

(1968 - 2026)

James was born in Phelps on May 21st, 1968, to Bonnie Greenman and James Conley.

He attended Northland Pines school and was on the basket ball team, of which he would share many positive memories.

After graduating, he made his living plying trades learned from his grandfather Budd as a multitalented builder; doing masonry, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, mechanics, and was quick to pick up other skills as needed. He applied what he learned in the union, scrapping with Zmek and Sons, and maintenance work. He was also a part in the creation of the Northland Pines High School, many roadworks in the area, and much more besides.

James was a wonderful provider, guardian and protector to those he loved, with a particular eye for individuals struggling to make ends meet, as he didn't like to see others suffer when he could help. James enjoyed being in nature, working on his various building projects and vehicles, heavy machinery, cruising the back roads, loud music, and spending time with family, friends and beloved pets.

James is preceded in death by his son, Bobby; and grandfather, Budd, and is survived by his wife, Margaret; mother Bonnie; sisters, Kim and Kelly; brother, Jim; and cousins, (who he loved as brothers and sister) Erin, Max, and Catherine.

A memorial service was held on Friday September 11, 2026, at Gaffney-Busha funeral home in Eagle River.
