She grew up in Chicago and graduated from Luther South High School where she became a cherished member of a close-knit group known as the KOGOS, who stayed friends for over 70 years.
She was well known for being smart, vivacious, and fun. She attended Valparaiso University, and on January 19, 1963, she married Edward Ring.

She is survived by Edward; her brother, Fred; four children, Jeffrey (Vicky), Kristin, Diane, and Erik (Shellie); as well as six beloved grandchildren, Katelynn, Logan, Ryan, Rory, Piper, and Bea; three great-grand children, Sophia, Matthew, and Kennedy. She is also survived by her best friend Adrene Terfler; special caregiver Heidi; and dozens of other nieces and nephews.
