Kresl sentenced for recklessly endangering safety felony

Rylee Kresl, 34, of Conover, was sentenced on one felony charge of second-degree recklessly endangering safety last week in Vilas County Jail. She was sentenced to five years in the Wisconsin Prison System, with two years of initial confinement and three years of extended supervision with conditions. There were 138 days of presentence credit for the case.

Keith Hickman, 46, of Lac du Flambeau, was sentenced to 22 years in the Wisconsin Prison System on two felony counts of first-degree child sexual assault. Hickman will serve 11 years of initial confinement and 11 years of extended supervision. He will also have 15 years of sex offender registration. There were 542 days of presentence credit. This case is concurrent with another that he is serving.

Cory Wayman, 31, of Lac du Flambeau, pleaded guilty and was sentenced on one felony charge of possession with intent- amphetamine-methamphetamine. Judge Overbey sentenced him to five years of probation, including six months of conditional jail and other conditions. There were 89 days of presentence credit in the case.


Jacob Thoms-Bent, 27, of Arbor Vitae, pleaded not guilty to one felony count of second-degree Sexual Assault of a Child at an arraignment hearing last week in Vilas County Court. Prosecutors also requested that a Deferred Entry of Judgement be revoked in two other felony cases, due to this new case. Bond was continued, and a judicial pretrial was scheduled for Aug. 5 at 10:30 a.m.

Ayla Sunn, 38, of Lac du Flambeau, failed to appear for a plea/sentencing hearing on one felony charge of possession of THC and one misdemeanor. Judge Daniel Overbey ordered a body-only warrant with no voluntary appearances.

Shawn Rock, 31, of Wausau, appeared for a preliminary hearing on one felony count of possessing amphetamine/LSD/Psilocin (2+). Rock was bound for arraignment after the court found probable cause. An adjourned initial appearance was scheduled for Aug. 18 at 9:30 a.m.
