The Vilas County Lake Conservation Partners Meeting will be held this Friday, Oct. 24, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Boulder Junction Community Center.
According to Cathy Higley, Vilas County lake conservation specialist, this meeting offers a time for lake organizations, professionals, elected officials, and the interested public to get together and touch base on what is happening in Vilas County with lake conservation.
Beyond getting the inside scoop on what lake organizations are doing locally, other topics of discussion will include the Vilas County Land & Water Resources Management Plan, Clean Boats Clean Waters data, updates on aquatic invasive species occurrences, boat decontamination, Directed Lakes work, and shoreline campaigns and resources.
Attendees will also have the chance to meet and greet new conservation staff working in Vilas County.
“We’d love to hear what your lake organization did in 2025 and is planning to do in 2026,” Higley said. “Please consider prepping a 2-minute (or less) verbal update to share.”
To provide an update or for more information, contact Higley at 715-479-3738 or cahigl@vilascountywi.gov.
