Lakefront Building and Design honored with Badger Craftsman Best New Home Award

Posted

Lakefront Building and Design, based in Eagle River, was recently recognized by the Wisconsin Builders Association (WBA) with a Badger Craftsman Award for Best New Home in the $750,000–$1.25 million category.

The award-winning custom home was selected from entries submitted by builders across Wisconsin and was recognized for its exceptional craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and successful execution of the homeowners’ vision.

Basswood Acres is a custom 2,678-square-foot home built by Lakefront Building and Design in 2025 as a forever home for a retiring couple.

Designed for long-term comfort and accessibility, the home features zero-entry thresholds, a curbless tile shower, and a walk-in tub. The open-concept layout connects the great room, kitchen, and dining area, with custom cabinetry, granite countertops, hardwood oak flooring, and expansive views of the surrounding pines.

Layered lighting, tray ceilings, and custom timber details add architectural character throughout. A standout feature is the home’s custom timber craftsmanship, including striking exterior gables and a timber-framed porch and deck that create a true Northwoods retreat. With a full unfinished basement for future expansion and meticulous attention to detail throughout, Basswood Acres demonstrates how accessibility, beauty, and craftsmanship can work together in perfect harmony.

“We’re incredibly grateful to receive this recognition from the Wisconsin Builders Association,” said Ashley Favorite, vice president of Lakefront Building and Design. “Every award-winning home begins with clients who trust us to bring their vision to life. We’re thankful for that trust and for the dedication of our team and trade partners, whose skill, attention to detail, and commitment to quality make achievements like this possible.”
Now in its fifth year, the annual award program highlights the remarkable innovation, craftsmanship, and dedication of WBA members who are committed to building safe, accessible, and inspiring homes for Wisconsin residents.

Members from across the state submitted their top projects in a variety of categories, showcasing the best in homebuilding, from creative outdoor living spaces to multi-family development. Winners were determined through public voting, with nearly 8,200 votes cast across the award categories during a one-month voting period.

“These awards shine a spotlight on the skill, creativity, and innovation of our members,” said WBA Executive Director Brad Boycks. “We are honored to recognize their efforts and continued leadership in advancing the building industry throughout Wisconsin.”

The WBA extends its congratulations to all 2026 winners for their outstanding work and thanks all participants and voters who made this year’s program a success.
