Law enforcement responds to report of serious incident

A large police presence responded to a call of a possible homicide in the area of Military Road and Sheltered Valley Road the evening of Jan. 8 at approximately 5 p.m.

According to a press release issued by the Three Lakes Police Department (TLPD), law enforcement was able to make contact with the reported victim, who chose to remain at the location despite requests from law enforcement to assist.

Due to the nature and severity of the reported call, a large amount of resources were deployed to ensure the safety of parties involved and the responding officers.

TLPD was assisted by the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, Oneida County Special Response Team, Rhinelander Police Department, Vilas County Sheriff’s Office, Three Lakes Fire Department first responders, and Oneida County Ambulance Medic 8.

The incident remains under investigation by TLPD.
