Photography shines with new Artist Spotlight at Warehouse Arts Center

Posted

The Warehouse Community Arts Center in downtown Eagle River has a new Artist Spotlight display as part of their public art initiative to share local artists’ work.

The current spotlight is on landscape photographer Scott Pearson, with prints of North Woods scenery and wildlife, and of the northern lights and shorelines. A reception, free and open to the public, will be held on Friday, Feb. 28, from 5 - 7 p.m. Join to hear Pearson discuss his processes and inspirations, and to view the exhibit. The Inspiration Bar will be open.

Enjoy this public art exhibit during front desk hours Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., or during live music events (or while taking a class during nights or weekends) now through the end of March.

Pearson grew up in Duluth, Minn., just a few blocks from Lake Superior, spending hours combing the rocky shorelines for agates and other interesting artifacts. Living the majority of his life within a couple hours’ drive of the lakes in Minnesota, Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, his occupation in natural resource management introduced him to new landscapes and outdoor settings, and he was driven to start capturing those scenes.

The Warehouse Community Arts Center is a nonprofit organization that brings quality arts, education, and enrichment to all ages of locals and visitors to the Northwoods. Contact the Warehouse if looking to volunteer or teach, and visit their website at www.eagleriverart.com.
