Richard Edwin Hedberg, age 89 passed away Saturday at his home in Conover.
Richard was a life-long resident of Conover. Richard spent early years doing core sample drilling in Michigan and Minnesota, then joined Ed Hedberg & Sons Well Drilling which served northern Wisconsin and the U.P. from 1946 until his retirement.
Rich was a member of the Conover Lions Club for nearly 50 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and foraging from the Northwoods lands he truly loved.
Richard was known all across the county for his generosity and humor, and stories and knowledge of local history. Rich was always smiling and willing to lend a helping hand. He will be remembered and missed by many friends and relatives.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Florence and Ed Hedberg; his twin brothers, David and Daniel; wife, Joanne; daughter, Cara (DelBene); and grandson Lucas (McFee).
He will be sorely missed by his children and their spouses; Kris (William) Fischer, Jeff (Sylvia) Hedberg, Stephanie (Hedberg) Cline, Kori (Pat) Zastrow, Kim Karenke; 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. A service will be held Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Pioneer Lake Lutheran Church followed by a celebration of life at the Conover Town Park building.
