SepTimber Ride rolls into Eagle River this Saturday

Posted

The 11th annual SepTimber Ride returns to Eagle River on Saturday, Sept. 13, offering three unique self-guided bicycle routes.

Registration runs from 7 to 9 a.m. at Tribute Brewing Company, with rides starting as follows: the 100K Northwoods Road Ride at 8 a.m., the 60K Northwoods Road Ride at 8:30 a.m., and the 28-mile Three Eagle Trail Ride at 9 a.m. All rides begin and end at Tribute Brewing.

The 100K and 60K routes follow scenic county roads, weaving through the Chain of Lakes, while trail riders head south along the Three Eagle Trail. All riders will make a midway stop at Three Lakes Winery to sample wine before continuing.

“SepTimber Ride showcases the beautiful scenery of the North Woods during the fall season,” said Eagle River Chamber of Commerce Director Kim Emerson. “This ride isn’t about finishing first, it’s about soaking up the sights along the way. With more than 1,300 lakes and thousands of acres of state and national forest in this area, biking here is unique.”

From noon to 3 p.m., participants can enjoy a bratwurst picnic at Tribute Brewing and sample a variety of hand-crafted beers. Raffle drawings will follow, with basket raffles announced at 1:30 p.m. and prizes awarded at 2 p.m.

The grand prize is a Reid Quest 1.0 Electric Bike, followed by a Cannondale Synapse 3 Road Bike and a Lifetime Freestyle XL Stand Up Paddle Board.

Raffle tickets are available at the Eagle River Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center, The Hiker Box in downtown Eagle River, from Great Headwaters Trails members, or at the event.

All participants must be 21 or older. Registration is $70 (non-refundable) and includes the ride of your choice, a long-sleeved wick-away event shirt (while supplies last), the brat picnic, and wine and beer sampling.

Riders may register in advance or on the day of the event. Helmets approved by the CPSC are recommended. The ride takes place rain or shine.

Proceeds benefit the Great Headwaters Trails organization and its River Trail project, which aims to connect Eagle River to the Heart of Vilas Trail.

Tribute Brewing Company is located at 1106 N. Bluebird Road. For more information or to register, call the Eagle River Chamber of Commerce at 715-479-6400 or visit eagleriver.org.
