The Northwoods Land Trust and its partners, Vilas County Lakes and Rivers Association and Vilas County Land and Water Conservation Department, are offering a free shoreland owner workshop on Thursday, July 23, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Boulder Junction Community Center on Highway M.
Attendees will learn shoreland best practices and restoration options, resources for new property owners and lake associations, and permanent land protection options including conservation easements. Light refreshments will be served.
“There are many ways to help preserve the natural qualities of your lake or river shoreline. From simple things like planting native shoreline vegetation, to more in-depth measures like permanent conservation of long stretches of undeveloped shoreline,” said John Huesinkveld, conservation outreach specialist for Northwoods Land Trust.
Registration is requested by visiting northwoodslandtrust.org and clicking on “News and Events” to find the workshop details and sign-up form.
For more information, contact Heusinkveld at john@northwoodslandtrust.org or 715-479-2490.
