Beatrice Bailey
On June 18, 2026 Beatrice McGeshick Bailey (squawb-Na-quay) "Red Sky Woman" 88 of Watersmeet began her journey into the spirit world.
She was born January 7, 1938, at the Indian village along the northern shore of Lac Vieux Desert. She graduated from Ewen-Trout Creek high school in 1973. She attended Rose State College in Midwest City, OK for one year before her father died. She worked for Toumey Nursery in Watersmeet, MI, Lac Vieux Desert tribe in Watersmeet and Chippewa community tribe in Mole Lake, Wisconsin. She initiated health Care in her community and became the Director of Lac Vieux Desert Health Clinic.
She married William Bailey February 12, 2010.
She is survived by her husband, William Bailey; her sons, Roger (Jean) LaBine of Trout Creek, Wayne (Denise) LaBine of Mole Lake, WI; daughter, Terry Fox of Watersmeet; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren; her siblings, Ruth Antone, Thomas (Susie) McGeshick and Joyce Hazen all of Watersmeet, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Dan McGeshick, Sr. and Josephine White McGeshick; her husband's, Cecil LaBine, Willard McGeshick and William Kelly; her sisters, Jeannie McGeshick and Helen Smith; her brother's, Archie McGeshick Sr., Richard, McGeshick, Sr., Daniel McGeshick and John McGeshick, Sr.; her grandson, Craig Fox; her son-in-law, Charles D Fox; her Brother-in-law, Mike Hazen, Sr., Ira, Antone, Sr., and Raymond Smith; sister-in-law, Annabelle Smith McGeshick; son, Paul LaBine.
She enjoyed going to the car races, watching Dr. Pol, Fishing, and watching football.
Visitation will be held Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the Roundhouse at old Indian village, Lac Vieux Desert from 6 to 8 central time. Funeral services will be Sunday, June 21, 2026, at 10 AM central time at the Roundhouse at old Indian Village Lac Vieux Desert. Interment will be at the Lac Vieux Desert Cemetery.
