For a much longer period than it has harbored albino whitetails, the town of Three Lakes has had albino gray squirrels residing in or close to the sanitary district, from Bonack Loop Road to the south and Timbershore Drive to the north of town. Unlike the albino deer than have steel-blue eyes, the squirrels have pink eyes.
