Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra returns to Eagle River Sunday, Dec. 8

Posted

The Headwaters Council for the Performing Arts (HCPA) will be bringing the Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra (CWSO) back to the Northland Pines High School auditorium on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 4 p.m. for a festive concert.
The CWSO, led by conductor Andy Moran, will feature Lexie Lakmann’s vocals and the orchestra’s playing Christmas classics and holiday pops, including “Winter Wonderland,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” and “Let It Go” from the Disney film “Frozen.”
The orchestra, based in Stevens Point, will include musicians from central Wisconsin.
HCPA will have other holiday activities that day, including the high school’s own Madrigal Singers. Orchestra members, with their instruments, will mingle with the audience during intermission. Concert attendees are invited to stay for the post-concert reception and a possible visit from Santa.
Continuing its tradition of offering seasonal raffle baskets, HCPA’s December theme is “Home for the Holidays.” The baskets will feature holiday items, gift certificates, and decorative items. Tickets for the raffle are one for $5 or five for $20.

Patrons of HCPA and other community members are encouraged to participate in “Giving Tuesday,” a national day of giving back to nonprofits in the community, either monetarily or by taking action in support of the nonprofit’s mission. HCPA is a 501c nonprofit that brings family entertainment to the Northwoods, at an affordable price, thus enhancing our communities’ performing arts endeavors. A donation link is available on the website HCPApresents.com.
Tickets for the CWSO performance are $35 and can be purchased at Eagle River Roasters until Sunday, Dec. 7, online at HCPApresents.com, or at the door starting at 6 p.m. the night of the show.
