Eagle River Chain O’ Dance Studio’s annual recital returns this Saturday

Eagle River Chain O’ Dance Studio’s annual recital returns Saturday, April 25, with performances at 12:30 and 5:30 p.m. at the Northland Pines High School Auditorium in Eagle River.

Approximately 180 dancers ages 4-18 from Eagle River, Three Lakes, Sugar Camp, St. Germain, Land O’ Lakes, Rhinelander and Crandon will take the stage to perform a variety of dance styles, including tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical and pointe.

Studio owner and dance instructor Leigha Siegmeier said this year’s theme, “Outta This World,” promises plenty of fun, featuring space-themed songs such as “Stargazing,” “Fly Me to the Moon,” “Shooting Stars,” “Starships,” “A Sky Full of Stars” and “Supermassive Black Hole.”

“A crowd favorite is usually the opening number — this year it’s ‘Star Wars,’ featuring more than 60 stormtroopers,” said Siegmeier.

The dance season runs from October to April, with the first few months focused on skills and technique. Students have been rehearsing for the recital since January.

Cash-only tickets will be available at the door for $9 for adults and $6 for students ages 5-18 and senior citizens. Children age 4 and under who can sit on a lap will be admitted free.
