The First Congregational United Church of Christ in Eagle River recently celebrated the 100th anniversary of the present church building with a “birthday cake,” balloons, and a special worship service.
The original church building constructed in 1887 was a frame structure located at the southeast corner of First and Division Streets, across the road from the present church building. Methodists built it in 1924, and eventually sold it to the Congregationalists for $200.
