Landover ATV/UTV Club secures $50k grant

Posted

The Landover ATV/UTV Club has been awarded a $50,000 grant from the Eagle River Chamber of Commerce and the Eagle River Tourism and Development Committee to enhance trail maintenance efforts.

The club identified the need for an additional machine to assist in trail maintenance, specifically for tackling corners and improving overall safety.

After extensive testing of various machines over the past few years, the club has decided to invest in an articulated wheeled loader.

This versatile machine allows for the use of multiple attachments, including a bucket, forks, dozer blade, broom and grapple. The grapple attachment will prove particularly useful during summer storms, enabling club members to safely remove fallen trees from the trails. Additionally, the broom attachment will facilitate the cleaning of road intersections and bridges, improving safety by minimizing the risk of accidents involving vehicles and equipment.

Aware of a grant opportunity from the Eagle River Tourism and Development Committee—a collaborative effort with the Eagle River Chamber of Commerce—the club began the application process in September.

The grant application required the completion of necessary paperwork and submission of a purchase order for the project.

In October, the club received notification of a $50,000 grant award designated for the purchase of a New Holland W80CLR loader and its attachments. Following the award, a summary award packet was completed before receiving the grant check.

The Landover ATV/UTV Club highlighted its gratitude to the Eagle River Tourism and Development Committee and the Eagle River Chamber of Commerce for their support.
