Nicolet National Bank Senior Spotlight

Three Lakes senior Levi Lurvey is a two-sport athlete for the Bluejays, playing basketball in the winter and golf in the spring. With a love for the outdoors, Lurvey wanted to participate in a sport that would allow him to not only spend time outside but also compete and be with friends.

He fishes year-round and tends to be in the woods during the fall hunting season.

After high school, Lurvey wants to attend Northeast Wisconsin Technical College to pursue Civil Engineering Technology. He will then go to Pitlik and Wick to work after that. Here is more on the Three Lakes senior:

Do you have a nickname that your friends or family call you?
“A nickname that I am commonly called is ‘Lee’. I am not sure how this nickname became a thing. One day, someone just called me it, and it stuck.”

Do you participate in any other sports besides basketball?
“I also participate in golf in the spring. I play golf because it is a much different sport from others. I like spending time outside, and this is the perfect way to do an activity outside with friends and compete in some way against others. I like golf because it is a relaxing and fun sport.”

Is there a personal goal you have on the court this year?
“A personal goal I have this year on the court would be to be a good teammate and be a good leader on the court. I want to get better this year and try to go out with a bang while also growing leadership skills and being a good teammate.”

What other hobbies do you have outside of sports?

“Hobbies outside of sports that I have would be hunting and fishing. All year around I fish whenever I have the chance while also hunting in the fall season.”

Favorite vacation spot that you’ve been to?
“My favorite vacation spot I have ever been to would be Marco Island, Fla. I do not go on vacations often, but when I went to Marco Island a couple years ago with my family, it was a blast.”

Do you have a pregame ritual that helps you before your games?
“A pregame ritual I have before every game would be using big rubber stretch bands to stretch out. They help me get loose before each game.”

Do you have any plans for after high school? College?
“After high school, I plan on going to Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. I plan on going for Civil Engineering Technology and then going to Pitlik and Wick working there after that.”
