RACERS READY — Lakeland Area Mountain Biking Organization (LAMBO) hosted its seventh annual Fatathlon fat tire bike race and cornhole biathlon Saturday at the new Sucker Springs trail just north of Eagle River. Thirty-six riders registered to compete in the event which raises funds for the building and maintenance of local trail systems. Riders could take part in a 10- or 20-mile race and knock time off their riding scores by sinking a cornhole bag. —Staff Photos By MICHELLE DREW
Organizer and mountain biking maniac Mike Olkowski reminds riders to have fun, but more importantly be kind and safe to other racers before the start.
Racers had 10 tosses to try to sink a bag and knock 1 minute off their riding score.
Chef Brian prepared a Nesco of Creole jambalaya for riders and attendees to enjoy after the race.
Racers stay nimble by the fire pits on the grounds to ward off the morning's cold start that hovered in the single digits and low teens.
